Join us at Spread Ur Wings on Tues 4th Aug, We will be learning fire saftey from the London Fire Brigade and how they keep us safe. Together we will be learning that fire is dangerous, and can hurt people. They'll learn about common fire hazards, and to never play with matches and lighters. We also talk about smoke alarms and how they keep homes safe from fire, what to do in an emergency if there is a fire, and how to call 999. Session for older children goes into more detail. lt explains that fire kills, destroys homes and spreads quickly. lt educates that smoke can be as dangerous as fire, how smoke alarms work, and how to make sure they are working properly. We'll talk about how to make fire escape plans from homes (including tower blocks), what to do if there is a fire, and how to call 999. Our aim is to create a positive learning environment that promotes understanding while also providing a safe space for our young people to share, reflect, and learn. We will also be doing arts and crafts activities, giving young people the opportunity to express their thoughts and feelings through creativity. Using a range of materials and guided activities, young people will be encouraged to explore their emotions, build confidence, and develop positive coping strategies.
